The SC also affirmed with finality yesterday the ruling that "all appointive officials who have filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) are deemed resigned. This however, does not apply to those in government office as the law is simple and clear. This likewise means that there is no need for the appointive official to resign as he is deemed resigned by law.
