Remembering the Good Ol’ Times

It’s the month of June. This month is especially known for marriages and start of classes. Well, since I’m not getting married any soon, I’m not going to discuss about it. Instead, I am going to write about school.

Earlier, my father and I were reminiscing about my elementary days when we used to go to the then Happy Emporium (haha it was popular then) and we would be buying the requirements for school. These include notebooks, ball pens, pencils, erasers, bags, socks and just about anything the school burdens the tight-budgeted parents to buy. It was fun buying those school supplies especially when my siblings and I were already looking forward to going home and try out our newest pair of shoes, ninja turtles-designed bags, colorful pencil cases, etc.

Oh, my father remembered that my mother was still using P.O. because credit cards were still non-existent. (haha oldies)

I reminded my father how he used to sit on the chair next to the table covering all our books and notebooks with plastic cover. He was really good at it and it seems that his talent in book covering was inherited by my elder sister. I missed those times when I used to enjoy watching him cover the books.

I also miss it when I used to look forward to the first day of classes. I don’t have the same attitude now. I dread school days. But hey, few more years (God willing) and I am out of the classroom setting already! I can’t wait!
