Here’s a reflection on poverty in this country:

The story of the ditch-digger:

The ditch-digger was asked why he was digging ditches. He replied, “I dig ditch to earn the money to buy food to give me strength to dig the ditch.”

How could the poor rise from their present state when what they earn is just enough to get through the day.
