God's Wisdom

As I went back to my hometown for the Christmas vacation, my dog surprised me with her pregnancy. Soon enough, she had to labor on the 23rd of December. My brother and I assisted her as she was a first time mom. We were all asleep in the house when her first born went out of her womb. Unfortunately, the baby did not make it. We were not sure if we were just able to wake up and assisted her we could have saved the baby girl. But we rested with the thought that God did not deem the baby to be alive for a reason. When she gave birth to the second baby which was again a girl, my dog sat on it and we were not able to notice it again despite our guarded lookout on her. My brother tried resuscitating the puppy to no avail. Again we were so sad and just waited for few more babies as my dog’s tummy was still big. Thereafter, I prayed and really sought the Lord in my heart. I asked him to give us puppies which we can celebrate with during the Christmas and which would be one of the best Christmas gifts that my family and I would get this year. Lastly, I asked God’s forgiveness if we were too selfish to ask for baby girls so that we can breed some more and probably sell some for income. Thus, I asked God to give us puppies regardless of their gender. Soon after my prayer, my dog gave birth to the cutest little boy. Then another boy then another boy! Wow God is amazing! Finally, a girl came out! We had 1 girl and 3 bouncing baby boys!

God is indeed amazing! When we lifted everything up to Him and let go of our selfish desires He blessed us with more than we can ask for. He gave us boys to make us realize that we should accept whatever gender the puppies will have and not to seek our own motives of having girls so we can breed more and sell. But ultimately, God still gave us 1 girl as a sign that He accepts our forgiveness and humility.

I cannot even fathom how wonderful and totally different God’s ways are with ours. But His is the best way. Thus, I no longer want to doubt God’s provisions in my life. With this, He gave me a sign that He is in control no matter what. This is enough reason for me to rest in the thought that He has great plans ahead for me as I slowly melt away my fears and doubts of a good future for myself.

“Seek first the Lord and all things will be added unto you.”
