Just An Expression

This is somehow belated. But anyway, here's an interesting statement from a news personality regarding the ZTE-NBN issue that has ballooned over the past few days.

"As I learned from my Philosophy class, when you argue using emotions you become illogical and when you become illogical you ran out of reasons."

Obviously this is addressed to the crying tactics of the controversial whistle blower Lozada. I have nothing against him nor anybody for that matter. The fact is that somebody is telling the truth and somebody is lying. There are no two, three or more truths. Only one. What I just want is that the senate to be polite enough to address this matter to the sound discretion of the court. It needs the examination of evidence and testimonies of the parties involved. One's word of mouth should not be admitted as it is alone. It may or may not come within the realm of hearsay. But only a judge of experience can determine that using the Rules of Evidence readily available in our laws and statutes. This issue should not be left at the impartial minds of senators who have their own underlying self-interests. Admittedly, there are pro and anti GMA in them, majority even, hence, no fair investigation may come out. This needs the saving grace of an impartial tribunal. Again, this is just my opinion.

the question is, do we really have an impartial tribunal? appointments to the judiciary also go through the politicians' handpicking handiwork.

i would like to believe so.. at least, we'll have something in the SCRA's to remind us of this issue.. and for the future law students to study and determine for themselves if indeed we still have tribunals of truth and impartiality.
